Happy Birthday to John Banner (1910-1973) best known as Sgt. Schutlz on HOGAN’S HEROES. Banner was a Austrain-Jew who emigrated to the United States after Hitler annexed Austria–and served in the U.S. Army Air Corp during WWII. He became an actor with over 40 films to his credit and hundreds of TV appearances.
