Television’s first fantasy-sitcom, “Topper,” adapted from a book and a movie, starred Leo G. Carroll as Cosmo Topper, a banking VP who buys a house haunted by the ghosts of former owners George and Marion Kerby, along with their alcoholic St. Bernard, Neil. Only Topper can see them, leading to comedic scenarios as the mischievous ghosts interact with him. Anne Jeffries and Robert Sterling played the Kerbys, with Lee Patrick as Topper’s wife, Henrietta. The show, known for its early use of trick camera techniques, was popular in the U.S. and also aired in Britain, though only 36 episodes were purchased.

It’s a wrap on Call the Midwife Series 13 filming. This shot of Georgie Glen (Miss Higgins) is from the set of Call the midwife, where the very final scene of Series 13 has been completed. Now the countdown begins to THE CHRISTMAS SPECIAL. Call the Midwife returns soon with a new Christmas Special, and Series 13 in 2024.
